Deep Cleaning to Avoid Coronavirus Infection At Home
The spread of the coronavirus has driven a lot of people to stay indoors in order to keep themselves safe from getting infected. However, there are still times that you might need to go out in order to buy supplies such as food and toiletries. This is the reason why you need to make sure that even if you do stay at home a lot these days, you still need to do some deep cleaning in your home to ensure that you are safe at all times. Here are some tips you might want to keep in mind in order to reduce the likelihood of coronavirus infection in your home:
Practice Border Control At Home
Start by disinfecting surfaces that get touched or walked on a lot. This includes your door handles, switches, counters, railings, and hallway floors. Next, you want to make sure that anyone who goes out of your home practices a routine that they should strictly follow. Some of the important steps would be to clean up right before entering the house such as not bringing outside shoes in, washing arms, face, neck, legs, and hair, and changing into clean clothes right before entering the house.
Leave Cleaning Solutions Before Wiping
Don’t spray then wipe cleaning solutions immediately. Instead, let it sit for at least five minutes before wiping it down. Most cleaning solutions and disinfectants kill off germs, bacteria, and viruses better if they are left to sit first before getting wiped down.
Create Your Own Solution
There is a widespread shortage of cleaning disinfectants and sprays nowadays. If you are low or do not have access to these at the moment, you can create your own by just using bleach. Mix a third of a cup of bleach to 3 parts of water, put in a spray bottle, and you now have your own cleaning solution. You can basically use this on all kinds of surfaces.
Should I Ban Visitors from Coming?
You can ban certain people like your friends and some of your family members from coming into your home. They should also be staying at home as well anyway. However, there are certain people you cannot ban. This includes deep cleaning helpers, the cable or Internet guy, the plumber, an electrician, or any other service technician. You just need to make sure that they follow your border control protocol as well.
